Appropriation

This piece I created a year ago called Appropriation, using cell vinyl paints. I took a widely recognized picture of Albert Einstein writing on the chalkboard his equation, e=mc^2. I then replaced the equation with the E sign from E entertainment channel equally their slogan: Pop of Culture, and squared that. I felt like so much of the world is consumed with things that don’t even matter, such as pop culture. No one is interested anymore in real knowledge as power. Through my art I am able to express myself. What messages are you sending to the world? What messages do you want to send to the world? What is important to you? Art is such an amazing outlet. It can be used in so many ways to convey ideas, thoughts and different points of view. My artwork always shows little pieces of me and I hope that people are able to see that.
